1 -We Tell Our StoryWhen my grandmother diagnosed with congestive heart failure. I had To Go Red and help my Grandmother (Who lived with and who raised me) find a new way to live, She stopped smoking, We changed her diet, I took her YMCA every day to walk with her friends. I took her to all of her doctors appointments, I made sure she took her medicine, I did all the banking, shopping and house cleaning. I took her tithes and offering to church on Sundays. I chauffeured her and her friends around buffalo to their birthday club parties. I went Red with my Grandmother for 6 years until she lost her fight with heart disease. My Grandmother is resting in peace while I continue the fight to save lives from the # 1 killer of women.

13-Fund Raise For Research Goes Red
Historically, clinical studies haven’t included enough women, particularly women of color. As of 2020, women represent only 38% of research participants. We need women to be equally represented, allowing us to understand their specific risks, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment.
Research Goes Red is an initiative calling on women across the United States to contribute to health research. Our vision for Research Goes Red is to create the world’s most engaged and largest women’s health registry and research platform designed to put women directly in the driver’s seat to accelerate our understanding of how cardiovascular disease uniquely impacts women.

By empowering Women to make informed health decisions through self-monitoring, preventive measures and accessible consumer healthcare products, self-care can improve quality of life, reduce healthcare costs and alleviate pressure on public health systems.
Research by the Global Self-Care Federation conducted in 18 countries in the East Asia and Pacific region has shown that self-care as the first treatment option brings significant socio-demographic benefits to individuals, huge cost savings to economies and health care systems, and a significant reduction in physician workload by as much as 186 million hours!
Although it’s not entirely new, the concept of self-care has received more attention recently. This empowers individuals to manage their health and bridge gaps in traditional healthcare systems, with advancements like digital tools and over-the-counter medications increasing accessibility. It consists of strategies that focus on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, preventive treatment, symptom management, and self-monitoring.
Self-care in Europe is seen as a necessity to relieve the burden on national healthcare systems to counteract demographic changes and to alleviate expected decline in the number of healthcare professionals. In this context, self-care strategies are promoted, with a focus on the transfer from prescription to nonprescription medication.
